Following several inmates at the Bullitt County Detention Center testing positive for methamphetamine, an investigation showed the drug was dropped off at an inmate work site.

Ten inmates recently tested positive for methamphetamine spurring an investigation that determined an inmate on a road crew worked with a person outside the jail who left the meth at a work site, according to a report by WAVE.com.

The drugs were then smuggled into the detention center by an inmate.

Officials said since the discovery all the facility’s cells have been searched by jail staff as well as K-9s.

The investigation is ongoing.
