Deborah Kay Welsh, age 64, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Friday, (December 15, 2023) at Springview Nursing and Rehab in Leitchfield.
Debbie was raised in Beech Grove, Indiana. She married to Raymond Welsh and together had an amazing son Jeremy. Debbie was very much a wonderer. She enjoyed traveling and seeing new places. She and her sisters had many stories of camping, vacations, wild nights, regrowing pizzas, and green potato chips. She loved being outdoors and soaking up all the sun as much she could. Her true love in life was cooking. She enjoyed creating food for others to enjoy and would watch all types of cooking shows to find her next favorite recipe. She always cooked enough for an army so when friends, kids, grandbabies, anyone came over, there was always enough to go around. When she wasn’t cooking she could be found in front of her couch with a cigarette, a Dr. Pepper, and an old TV show while she played solitaire.
She was a very simple woman who greatly enjoyed her very simple life.
She is survived by her son Jeremy Welsh and wife Amy and their sons Terrance and Addam as well as two brothers, Ed and Ron Marks and family. She also has several nieces, nephews, and cousins all over the Midwest.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents Norvell and Jean Francis Marks, her sisters Becky Andis, Brenda Dugger, Sherri Pennington, and BJ Marks and her brother Sonny Curry.
Visitation will be held at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday (December 21, 2023). In keeping with her wishes, cremation will follow.
