2 Breck Co. men injured, one man arrested after truck hits car at Mill St./bypass intersection

A man was arrested after a crash at the intersection of Mill Street and the William Thomason Byway that injured two Breckinridge County men.

Friday evening at approximately 5:30, Leitchfield Police Department Sgt. Robert Jackson and Officers Brian Jennings and Hunter Miller, Grayson County Sgt. Jordan Jones, the Leitchfield Fire Department and EMS responded to the crash and found that a Ford Fusion, being driven north on the bypass by a 77-year-old Breckinridge County man, stopped (late) at a red light near the middle of the intersection.

A Dodge Ram truck pulling a trailer and being driven by 34-year-old Heber M. Zuniga, of Louisville, was traveling east on Mill Street and crashed into the Ford’s driver’s side door.

The driver of the Ford and his 55-year-old male passenger were transported to Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center. The passenger was transported by EMS, the driver was taken by private means.

Zuniga was given a field sobriety test and arrested and charged with DUI. He was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.
