All Kentucky county clerk’s offices will close for several days to upgrade the state’s vehicle information database to a new, customer-centric system.
The offices will temporarily pause in-person and online motor- and vessel-related services beginning January 1, 2024. December 29 is the final day before the shutdown to renew tags, conduct transfers and other transactions.
“A statewide break of services is necessary to allow for the transfer of more than 350 million records,” state officials said. “The move to the new system will not impact driver license issuance at Driver Licensing Regional Offices.”
