Morgan County Sheriff Greg Motley said Deputy Shawn Pack “sustained multiple injuries in a fall” while chasing a suspect. The incident occurred Friday morning.

Pack was airlifted to the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center.

“The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office as well as Deputy Pack’s family would like to thank the Morgan County Volunteer Rescue Squad, Blackwater Volunteer Fire Department, 519 Volunteer Fire Department, Morgan County Ambulance Service, West Liberty Volunteer Fire Department, West Liberty Police Department and Elliott County Ambulance Service for successfully treating and removing Deputy Pack from the scene,” Motley said in a social media post. “We would ask that you keep Deputy Pack in your thoughts and prayers while he is recovering from his injuries.”
