Authorities in Simpson County are investigating after the armed robbery of an Amish produce stand.

Simpson County Sheriff Jere Dee Hopson said that on Thursday two white males “pulled up to an Amish stand and requested produce.” The stand was on New Salem Road, about five miles north of Franklin off Morgantown Road (Hwy 73).

The victim gathered the order and one of the suspects, who remained in their vehicle, presented payment. As the victim was making change from his wallet, the passenger in the vehicle pulled a handgun and demanded the victim’s wallet, Hopson said.

The suspects then fled north.

Hopson said the suspects were in a dark, two-door sports car with a spoiler and dark tinted windows. The vehicle had no registration plate.

Anyone with information regarding this armed robbery is asked to contact the Simpson Co. Sheriff’s Office at 270-586-7425.
