An Elizabethtown man has been indicted on murder charges following an alcohol-related double-fatality crash in LaRue County.
Robert W. Wilson, 34, was recently indicted by a LaRue County Grand Jury on two counts of wanton murder, two counts of first-degree assault and persistent felony offender, according to The News-Enterprise. He faces up to life in prison if convicted.
The charges stem from the deaths of 41-year-old Carla Parker, of Sonora, and 34-year-old Victoria Sharp, of Lebanon, in July 2022.
Wilson previously pled guilty to DUI in relationship to the wreck.
Police said the investigation revealed that Wilson was traveling south on Bardstown Road in a 2009 Chrysler 300 when he crossed the center line and into the path of a 2008 Dodge Charger, being driven by 34-year-old Tessie McNear, of Hodgenville.
Sharp was a passenger in Wilson’s vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Parker was a passenger in McNear’s vehicle. She was pronounced deceased after being transported to Baptist Health Hardin.
Wilson and McNear were transported to University of Louisville Hospital with serious injuries.
A juvenile passenger in McNear’s vehicle was transported to Baptist Health Hardin with non-life threatening injuries.
Wilson is currently lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center on a $500,000 cash bond.
