A Breckinridge County teenager has been indicted on a homicide charge following a crash that killed a Hardin County man.
Zackeri Dylan Duke, 19, of McDaniels, was indicted by a Hardin County Grand Jury for reckless homicide in the June 2022 death of 66-year-old Wilburn Robert Sisco, of Vine Grove, according to The News-Enterprise.
Duke is accused of running a stop sign while driving at excessive speeds at the intersection of North Logsdon Parkway and Hillcrest Drive on June 22, 2022. Duke struck Sisco’s vehicle, killing the U.S. Army veteran.
Duke was also indicted on a fourth-degree assault charge after his passenger, Taylor Herbig, was injured in the collision.
Duke, who pled not guilty to the charges earlier this week, is lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center on a $10,000 cash bond.
The case was initially handled in juvenile court, according to the Elizabethtown newspaper, but was sent earlier this week to Hardin Circuit Court.
Reckless homicide is a class D felony punishable by up to five years in prison. Fourth-degree assault is a class A misdemeanor, punishable by up to one year in jail.
