The city of Leitchfield’s Hometown Christmas Parade and Shop the Square event are Saturday.

The Hometown Christmas Parade is slated to begin at its new time: 4:00 Saturday afternoon. The parade begins at the Grayson County Fairgrounds on Brandenburg Road and will travel to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on North Main Street.

Following the parade, a Shop the Square event on the Leitchfield Town Square will feature over 20 vendors, retails shops, caroling, and photo opportunities with Santa.

The parade and Shop the Square events follow Friday night’s Light up Leitchfield, Clarkson’s Christmas in the Park and Tree Lighting ceremony and Light Up Caneyville.

The city of Leitchfield will host Light up Leitchfield Friday evening at 5:00 at the Beville Park pavilion.

Santa Claus will of course make an appearance and hear children’s Christmas gift wishes. But before Santa arrives, the Lawler and Wilkey Elementary Schools’ choirs will sing holiday classics.

At 6:00 Friday night, Clarkson will host its second annual Christmas in the Park and Tree Lighting celebration held at Clarkson City Park. Santa will arrive on a fire truck and with a police escort.

Also at 6:00, Light Up Caneyville will be held at the Purple Flash Center.
