A Bullitt County woman has been accused of killing her two young children.
The Bullitt County Sheriff’s Office responded Wednesday morning at approximately 11:10 to 213 Brentwood Drive in Shepherdsville on the report of a shooting.
Upon arriving at the home, police found two victims, ages six and nine, suffering from gunshot wounds. The children were transported to Norton Children’s Hospital in Louisville where they were pronounced deceased, according to the Bullitt County Sheriff’s Office.
The mother of the victims, 32-year-old Tiffanie Lucas, was detained at the shooting scene. She was later arrested and charged with the murder of her children.
“At this time, it appears all parties in relation to this incident have been accounted for and there is no threat to the community,” the sheriff’s office said.
Lucas was lodged in the Bullitt County Detention Center.
