Charles William “Bill” Meyers, age 82, of Louisville, KY, passed away Thursday, (November 02, 2023) at Nortons Brownsboro in Louisville. He was born on June 24, 1941, in Caneyville, KY, the son of the late Neil and Grace Woodcock Meyers.
He retired from Ford Motor Company after more than 40 years of employment and enjoyed trading guns, watching UK ball games, and was a loving “Papaw” to his grandchildren. He was a member of the Caneyville Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his daughter, Penny Fentress (Lannie) of Leitchfield, KY; two grandchildren, Misty Fentress (Keneta) and Daron Fentress, also of Leitchfield; two great-grandchildren, Draven & Deagan Fentress; a brother, James Meyers of Florida; and a sister, Blanche “Lavonne” Embry of
Louisville. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Johnson and a brother, John Meyers.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, (November 15, 2023) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Kirt Scott will be officiating. Entombment will be in the Layman Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and from 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of services.
