
Kentucky State Police is investigating a fatal officer-involved shooting in Pulaski County.
Troopers responded to the shooting Friday night at approximately 11:50 at a residence on Emeralds Court in Somerset.
The preliminary investigation showed the Somerset Police Department responded to a domestic violence complaint where officers encountered a male suspect armed with a firearm. During the confrontation, a Somerset officer shot the suspect.
The man was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Pulaski County Coroner’s Office.
The body was transported to the state Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for an autopsy.
A Somerset officer suffered non-life threatening injuries during the incident. The officer was transported to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
