Human remains have been discovered in Rowan County.
The skeletal remains were found Sunday afternoon by hunters in a wooded area in Morehead near the border of Daniel Boone National Forest. The Rowan County Coroner’s Office told WKYT.com that “personal items” were found in the vicinity of the remains.
The Morehead Police Department is conducting a search of the area but as of Tuesday afternoon no other items associated with the remains have been found.
The remains have been sent to the state Medical Examiner’s Office for identification and cause of death determination.
