An arrest has been made in a drive-by shooting in Elizabethtown.
The Elizabethtown Police Department responded Tuesday night at approximately 10:00 to the 400 block of East Dixie Avenue (Hwy 31-W), near Elizabethtown City Cemetery, on the report of a man being shot “by the occupant of a passing vehicle,” according to Elizabethtown PD Public Affairs Officer Chris Denham.
The victim was transported to Baptist Health Hardin with non-life threatening injuries.
“Initially,” Denham said, “investigators were unable to develop necessary leads to identify the suspect.”
But, with “diligent investigative work and the use of our FLOCK camera system,” Denham said investigators identified a male juvenile suspect, who has since been taken into custody.
“It is important that I mention, this WAS NOT a random shooting,” Denham said. “The victim and suspect had an offensive interaction prior to the shooting taking place.”
