EKU professor arrested after placing camera in bathroom on university property

An Eastern Kentucky University professor has been accused of placing a recording device in a bathroom on campus.

Police arrested 35-year-old Kyle Knezevich, an aviation professor at the university, and charged him with voyeurism, five counts of promoting a sexual performance by a minor (victim under 16), five counts of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor (victim under 12), and possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor (victim over 12, under 18).

Knezevich admitted to placing the video camera in the men’s bathroom at the Whalin Technology Complex “for his own personal sexual gratification,” the Eastern Progress reports.

The video footage was investigated by the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch where investigators observed Knezevich place the camera in the bathroom “for the purpose of viewing genitals of unsuspecting individuals,” his arrest citation states, according to the Lexington Herald-Leader. At least one of the victims is under the age of 12.

Knezevich has resigned his position.

He was lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.
