Post 4 troopers arrest nearly 400 suspects in August, cite over 180 for not wearing seat belts

Kentucky State Police Post 4 in Elizabethtown has released its August Activity Report.

According KSP Post 4 Public Affairs Officer Scotty Sharp, troopers and detectives:

  • Wrote 1,883 citations and arrested 33 impaired drivers.
  • Opened 66 criminal cases, made 390 arrests and served 96 criminal court documents.
  • Cited 428 speeders and issued citations to 181 motorists for failure to wear a seat belt, with 10 citations issued for failure to use a child restraint seat.
  • Investigated 37 motor vehicle accidents and assisted 92 stranded motorists.
  • Gave 154 courtesy notices for minor traffic offenses.
  • Conducted 71 school and business security checks and answered 785 citizen complaints.
  • Were involved in 674 special details and conducted 109 community programs.

Sharp reminds motorists that KSP Post 4 troopers will conduct Road Safety Checkpoints as well as Speed Checkpoints throughout the eight county Post 4 coverage area during September and throughout the remainder of 2023.

Kentucky State Police Post 4 covers Hardin, Jefferson, Bullitt, Nelson, Meade, Breckinridge, LaRue, and Grayson counties.
