A pilot conducted an emergency landing at the Frankfort airport on Monday, apparently after the landing gear failed to lower.

First responders were dispatched to the Capital City Airport at approximately 10:40 Monday morning after a pilot said he had to make an emergency landing, according to the Frankfort Police Department.

The pilot of the Beech A36 landed the plane on its belly in a grassy area next to the runway.

One person was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. According to the FAA’s preliminary accident report, three passengers were on board.

The FAA is leading the investigation.
