The Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a horse was shot and killed.
The horse was killed in the 3300 block of Hwy 601 between the Luzerne and New Cypress communities, just south of the Western Kentucky Parkway, police said, “sometime in the late hours of September 1 (Friday) and the early morning hours of September 2 (Saturday).”
The deceased horse was found Saturday morning by the owner.
“This is a senseless and ruthless act of violence towards an innocent animal,” the sheriff’s office said. “The deputy investigating this case believes there were witnesses to the offense or multiple suspects involved.”
Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Office at 270-338-3345.
Four years ago, on May 18, 2019, a horse was found shot to death in a field off Kennedy Brasher Road, south of Greenville in Muhlenberg County, the sheriff’s office said. The horse had been shot twice.
