Leitchfield Fire Department looking to hire full-time firefighter

The Leitchfield Fire Department is looking for someone to “Become one of the Bravest” by joining the department as a full-time firefighter.

To qualify for the full-time position, one must have already passed the Candidate Physical Abilities Test (CPAT) and have Level II Certification (300 hours).

Other qualifications include having a valid driver’s license and insurance and pass a background check and drug screen. A candidate must also be a Grayson County resident.

The Leitchfield Fire Department offers the full-time employee insurance, retirement, vacation time, sick leave, and competitive pay.

LFD responds to not only fires of all types, but also vehicular accidents, medical runs where firefighters assist EMS personnel, reports of gas leaks, fire alarms at residences and businesses, and various other calls for service.

The department, which is budgeted for four full-time firefighters, currently only has three on its roster.
