A man has been arrested after accidentally shooting his girlfriend at the Kentucky State Fair.
Kentucky State Police arrested 19-year-old Amari McClung after a firearm became dislodged from his waistband, and as he attempted to gain control of the gun, it fired a single shot, striking the suspect’s 18-year-old girlfriend in the foot, according to a report by WAVE.com.
The incident happened on the Midway at approximately 6:15 Saturday evening.
The victim was transported to University of Louisville Hospital.
McClung was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment and carrying a concealed deadly weapon. He was lodged in Louisville Metro Corrections.
