A woman has been arrested in Laurel County after attempting to pick up her children from school while intoxicated.
The London Police Department arrested 36-year-old Brandy Evans at London Elementary School Tuesday afternoon.
She was observed by the Laurel County Public School Police stumbling around her vehicle before getting into the driver’s seat. Upon authorities making contact with Evans, she displayed slurred speech, bloodshot eyes and smelled strongly of alcohol.
Evans, after being arrested, told police she drank two shots of liquor and “a lot of other alcoholic beverages” prior to driving to the school and picking up her children. Evans’ mother was also in the vehicle.
She blew a .153 on an Intoxilyzer, a breath alcohol tester.
She was charged with DUI, failure to maintain insurance and traffic violations and lodged in Laurel County Corrections. She is no longer listed as an inmate.
