A man has been jailed after holding his girlfriend against her will during a standoff in Madisonville.

The Madisonville Police Department arrested 20-year-old Zachary Davis, of Henderson, and charged him with first-degree unlawful imprisonment, first-degree robbery, possession of handgun by a convicted felon, third-degree terroristic threatening, and fourth-degree assault (domestic violence). He is also being held on three out of county warrants.

The incident began Monday night at approximately 10:00 at Cross Creek Apartments in the 1500 block of Island Ford Road when police responded to a report of a man with a firearm, TriStateNews.com reports. Upon arriving at the scene, officers determined Davis was holding his girlfriend against her will.

After a short standoff, Davis was taken into custody. Police then discovered the suspect pointed a gun at his pregnant girlfriend’s stomach and threatened to shoot her.

A previous investigation by Madisonville police showed that on Saturday Davis shot four times at a residence in the 300 block of Daves Street. There were four people inside the home, including a sleeping child.

Davis is being held in the Hopkins County Detention Center on five bonds totaling $226,500.
