An Ohio County man has been arrested on a sex abuse charge after an assault at a Bowling Green park.
According to the Bowling Green Police Department, surveillance video shows 28-year-old Mitchell A. Thompson, of Beaver Dam, approach a couple “during an intimate moment” at the Covington Woods Park playground at approximately 2:45 Thursday morning.
“The woman told police a man approached her and her boyfriend and grabbed her inappropriately and pulled her towards him,” police said. “In the following seconds, Thompson grabbed the woman. The victim’s boyfriend was able to fight off Thompson.”
Thompson was located Thursday morning and arrested. He was charged with first-degree sexual abuse and lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail on a $2,500 cash bond.
