A Metcalfe County man has been arrested after police seized a cache of weapons and a smorgasbord of drugs.

The Barren River Drug Task Force, Metcalfe County Sheriff’s Office and Kentucky State Police executed a search warrant Monday on Judd Road, roughly halfway between Glasgow and Edmonton, just off Hwy 68/80.

The investigation was initiated on Wednesday, August 4, when the Barren County Jailer contacted the task force in reference to a subject placing illegal drugs on jail property for an inmate to take into the jail.

“The DTF conducted an investigation and reviewed video from the Barren County Jail and communications between an inmate and the suspect,” police said. “That investigation led to the search warrant on Judd Road.”

During a search of the residence, police seized 87.8 grams (3.1 ounces) of methamphetamine, loaded syringes, marijuana, scales, packaging equipment, and numerous firearms.

Additionally, a pipe bomb was discovered in the residence. The explosive device was turned over to the ATF and KSP explosive technicians for destruction.

Police arrested 34-year-old Cory S. Roach, of Edmonton, and charged him with trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), tampering with physical evidence, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Additional charges are pending, the task force said.

Roach was lodged in the Barren County Detention Center on a $50,000 cash bond.
