A Grayson County High School Family and Consumer Science (FCS) teacher has been nominated for the National Association of Teachers FCS Award of Merit.

Cody Mooneyhan will represent Kentucky as the nominee for the prestigious award, Grayson County Schools announced on Thursday.

“The nomination by Mooneyhan’s FCS peers,” the school district said, “recognizes that she has made significant contributions to Family and Consumer Sciences, and/or Association of Career and Technical Educators (ACTE), and/or National Association of Teachers FCS, and is considered to be an outstanding leader in the field.”

The national award winner will be announced at the ACTE Vision conference in December. The winner will receive a lifetime membership to NATFCS.

Mooneyhan will attend in a dual leadership role — as a member of the KACTE State Board and the KATFCS State Board as FCS Service Area Vice President.
