Former KSP post commander, Magoffin Co. Schools employee accused of sex abuse, rape

A former Kentucky State Police commander and criminal justice teacher in Magoffin County has been accused of sex crimes.

Anthony Taulbee, 47, of Salyersville, surrendered to authorities in Magoffin County after he was indicted for first-degree sexual abuse and third-degree rape, according to Mountain Top News.

Taulbee rose to the rank of Commander of KSP Post 6 in Dry Ridge and currently works as a criminal justice teacher at Magoffin County Career and Tech Center, which is part of the Magoffin County School District. He is also employed by the Kentucky Department of Corrections (KDC).

The school district suspended Taulbee without pay. The KDC has suspended the suspect, as well.

The alleged rape[s] occurred between March 1, 2018, and August 12, 2018, and the first-degree sexual abuse allegedly took place between March 1, 2018, and June 1, 2018, multiple news outlets report.

He was lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center but was released after posting a $20,000 cash bond.
