A Hardin County woman was killed and a man seriously injured after an SUV collided with a flatbed truck in Elizabethtown.

According to Elizabethtown Police Department Public Affairs Officer Chris Denham, officers responded to the accident Wednesday morning at approximately 8:45 in the 500 block of East Dixie Avenue.

The investigation, Denham said, showed that a Ford SUV, being driven by 29-year-old Sky Greathouse Williams, of Elizabethtown, was traveling south on East Dixie Avenue when the vehicle crossed the center line and struck an oncoming flatbed truck, being driven by Patrick Peters.

Williams was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Hardin County Coroner’s Office. Peters was transported to an unidentified hospital with what Denham described as serious injuries.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation, which is being led by the Elizabethtown PD Collision Reconstruction Team.
