Paul Newton, age 81, of Elizabethtown, KY, passed away Saturday, (July 15, 2023) at his home.
He was born on September 13, 1941 in Leitchfield, KY, the son of the late Everett and Myrtle Heath Newton.
He proudly served in the Air Force from 1964 to 1968. He worked as a commercial construction superintendent for 25 years. Paul enjoyed deer and turkey hunting, as well as fishing. He enjoyed laughing and loved to make people laugh. Paul was a member of the Seventh–day Adventist Church.
He is survived by two sons, Keith and Kevin Newton both of Elizabethtown; three brothers, Lawrence Newton (Tami) of Leitchfield, Tommy Newton (Pat) of Butler County, and Earl Newton (Dottie) of Louisville; two sisters, Ruth Ann Meredith (Ralph) of Hardin County, and Judy Haycraft (Ralph) of Leitchfield; and two grandsons, Stephen Newton (Heather) and Ryan Newton.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Everett Newton, Jr., Lewis Newton and Jimmy Newton.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, (July 25, 2023) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Burial will be in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday and from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of services.
