Second juvenile charged with murder in deadly McCreary Co. shooting

A second juvenile has been charged with murder following a shooting in McCreary County.

Kentucky State Police responded to the shooting Sunday night at approximately 6:45 outside of a home on Wagon Ridge Road, about three miles east of Whitley City in McCreary County.

The preliminary investigation, state police said, revealed that McCreary County 911 was notified of a dispute between 36-year-old Robert L. Lowe Jr. and 42-year-old Gabriel N. Campbell, both of Stearns. During the dispute, as Lowe sat in the driver’s seat of his vehicle, a juvenile fatally shot him.

He was pronounced deceased at the scene by the McCreary County Coroner’s Office.

The male juvenile was arrested and charged with murder and lodged in the Adair County Youth Development Center.

According to state police, KSP Det. Keegan Bray “arrested another juvenile in this investigation.” The juvenile suspect, police said, was also charged with murder. The second juvenile was lodged in the Adair County Youth Development Center.
