Leitchfield man seriously injured after being hit by truck

A Leitchfield man has been seriously injured after being struck by a truck.

Tuesday night at 8:55, Leitchfield Police Department Sgt. Robert Jackson and Officers Missy Skaggs and Ty Whitaker, the Leitchfield Fire Department and EMS responded to the accident in the 500 block of West Main Street (Hwy 54) at the railroad tracks.

Upon arriving at the scene, first responders found that 49-year-old James Poole had been walking along West Main Street when he was struck by a westbound Chevrolet truck.

Poole, who at one point was barely conscious, was alert when transported by EMS to Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center. His current condition is not known.
