An argument at a birthday party between an active duty military couple in Hardin County led to the shooting death of the wife and the arrest of her husband on a murder charge.

The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office responded to the deadly shooting Monday night at approximately 9:45 at a residence on Sierra Drive. The investigation showed that during a birthday party for 32-year-old Ashley Henning, of Rineyville, she and her husband, 33-year-old Jordan M. Henning, also of Rineyville, began arguing, according to The News-Enterprise.

The disagreement escalated, as party goers, after having no luck calming the couple, left the home. While neighbors were taking the couple’s children away from the residence, they heard multiple gunshots, followed by Jordan Henning abruptly leaving the property.

The neighbors then reentered the home and found Ashley Henning had been shot several times in the chest.

Jordan Henning was arrested a short time after leaving his residence. He was charged with murder (domestic violence) and lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center on a $1 million cash bond.

Fort Knox Public Affairs told the newspaper the suspect is attached to First Army East Division. It’s unclear which army division Ashley Henning served in.
