Following Sunday evening’s storms that ripped through the commonwealth, the National Weather Service in Louisville is confirming that an EF-2 tornado touched down near Cecilia.
An EF-2 is a tornado with winds around 115 miles per hour.

The strand of thunderstorms also affected the Grayson County community. Multiple roads were covered with limbs and downed trees. Additionally, it caused thousands of power outages stretching through all areas of the county.
As of 2:30 on Monday afternoon, approximately 5,550 residents are still without power.
The NWS is also surveying storm damage in Warren, LaRue, Bullitt, Russell, and Madison counties along with multiple locations in southern Indiana.
