Two teenagers were shot and killed in Owensboro in a four day period last week.

K105 reported last week that a death investigation was underway Wednesday afternoon after a female was found shot to death on Willett Road, which borders and traverses Ben Hawes State Park.

Initially, the victim was not identified but authorities now say 16-year-old Gay Mee Paw, of Owensboro, perished in the shooting.

The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Unit charged Paw’s former boyfriend, also 16-years-old, with her murder. The suspect was lodged in the Warren County Regional Juvenile Detention Center.

Paw was a student at Owensboro High School.

On Saturday, a 16-year-old boy was shot and killed near Hughes Avenue, according to the Owensboro Police Department. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

No arrests have been made. The Owensboro Police Department is leading the investigation.

The name of the decedent has not been released.
