Grayson County Alliance (GCA) has received a significant Good Works Grant from the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels (HOKC).
The grant, in the amount of $10,025, will be used to purchase a “large capacity copier,” according to GCA Executive Director Debbie Childress. The purchase, Childress said, will enable the organization to “better assist clients and administer our programs effectively and efficiently.”
GCA serves approximately 750 lower income Grayson County families every month by providing basic food support for the one in seven families struggling with food insecurity.
“GCA is deeply appreciative of the investment HOKC is making in us again this year,” Childress stated. “It is amazing to think that Colonels from across the world are making such a huge impact for Kentuckians by giving to the Good Works Program. We are honored to take that giving and better the lives of our friends and neighbors by feeding, teaching and empowering families.”
Over the previous year, HOKC has awarded $3.1 million in grants, providing support for 343 non-profit organizations and impacting more than 3.8 million Kentuckians.
Grants are made possible through donations from Kentucky Colonels throughout the commonwealth and around the world.
