Robert Alan “Whistle” Saltsman, age 59, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Thursday, (June 8, 2023) at Owensboro Health Twin Lakes in Leitchfield, KY. He was born on August 8, 1963 in Louisville, KY, the son of the late Robert Thomas and Mary
Lou Dudgeon Saltsman.

He was a partial owner of Noblett Septic and Excavating and a member of the Sons of American Legion Squadron #81. Robert was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and looking for arrowheads. He was a proud member of the Cedar Savage Club and the Turtle Club. He took an interest in exploring the various caves of Grayson County and was also a
collector of stamps. He was often described as a “jack of all trades, but master of nothing.”

He was a family man, a good story-teller and often times a comedian. He married the love of his life, Tammee, on September 17, 1983. He was a loving husband, father, and poppy and will be dearly missed. He attended Cross Point Church.

He is survived by his wife, Tammee Boring Saltsman; one son, Spencer Saltsman; two daughters, Sashelle-Lynn Saltsman and Addina-Marie Tritle (Will); and a special daughter, Mandy Sue Lambert; six grandchildren, Cheyanna- Rylee “Doodlebug,” Cohen “Snapperhead,” Julia, Harrison “Bubs,” Lila-Rose “Little boo,” and Zoey-Quin “Peanut”; three sisters, Vicky McDonald (Aaron Barye), Patrica Davis (Donnie Burris), and Charlene Noblett; one brother, Kevin Saltsman; one brother-in-law, Danny Noblett; and two bonus-brothers, Chris Lashley and Joe Davis. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Diane Risinger; a neice, Tonya Risinger; and a bonus brother, Scott Lashley.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, (June 14, 2023) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Burial will be in the Prewitt Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of services.
