A Grayson County man has been formally sentenced on child pornography charges.

Jeffrey D. Elmore, 54, of Caneyville, was sentenced in a Grayson County courtroom on Tuesday to 10 years in prison. Elmore was originally charged in January 2018 with eight counts of promoting a sexual performance by a minor (victim under 16), a class C felony, and six counts of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor, a class D felony. He was indicted by a Grayson County Grand Jury on those charges in April 2018.

In February 2023, as part of a plea deal, seven of the eight promoting a sexual performance by a minor counts were amended to seven counts of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor. Elmore then pled guilty to one count of promoting a sexual performance by a minor (victim under the age of 16) and 13 counts of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor, according to court documents.

He was sentenced by Circuit Court Judge Bruce Butler to 10 years for promoting a sexual performance by a minor (victim under the age of 16) and one year each for 13 counts of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor, according to sentencing documents. The sentences will run concurrently.

Upon his release from prison, Elmore was ordered to serve five years of conditional release where he will be “subject to all orders specified by the Department of Corrections, and comply with education, treatment, testing, or a combination thereof required by the Department of Corrections,” the sentencing document states.

Elmore, as reported by K105, was arrested on January 9, 2018, by the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch.

According to then-Kentucky State Police Post 4 spokesman Jeff Gregory, authorities arrested Elmore as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. Police began the investigation after discovering Elmore uploading images of child sexual exploitation online.

The illegal activity, according to Elmore’s grand jury indictment, took place in December 2017 and January 2018 when Elmore produced, directed, or promoted a sexual performance of a minor.
