Elizabethtown Community and Technical College (ECTC) recently awarded approximately 120 scholarships, including eight Grayson County Highs School students, to new and returning students for the 2023-2024 academic year.
“Scholarships and other financial aid are still available,” the college said, “and includes the Work Ready Kentucky Scholarship, which could make college tuition free for Kentucky residents who do not already have a degree and are entering an eligible academic program.”
Career fields covered by the Work Ready Kentucky Scholarship include healthcare, advanced manufacturing, business and IT, transportation and logistics, and construction and trades.
The DC to Degree Scholarship also is available to 2023 high school graduates who have earned dual credit at ECTC or another college in the Kentucky Community and Technical College System.
The eight Grayson County High School students who received a cumulative $12,600 in scholarship money are:
- Lillian Cockerel, Robert and Rita Robbins Excellence in Allied Health Education Endowment, $1,000
- Allie Dotson, Charles and Zelma Conner Inge Endowed Scholarship, $1,000 and the Ronald B. “Ron” Thomas Memorial Scholarship, $500
- Mackenzie England, KCTC Commonwealth Scholarship, $2,600
- Isaac Hart, Rineyville Optimist Club Scholarship, $1,000
- Elizabeth Lindsey, Charles and Zelma Conner Inge Endowed Scholarship, $1,000 and the Pamela Cohns Fox Memorial Scholarship, $1,000
- Aryssa Riggs, Robert and Rita Robbins Excellence in Allied Health Education Endowment, $1,000
- Abby Smith, Hudson First Generation Scholarship, $1,500
- Brady Stone, L.F. & Ruth Brewer Trust Scholarship, $2,000
