The Leitchfield Police Department has found an elderly man missing from Indiana.
Monday evening at approximately 6:15, Leitchfield PD was alerted that a 97-year-old man from Evansville, Indiana, was in Leitchfield.
Multiple officers began searching for the man.
Leitchfield police then received information the man was on Elizabethtown Road traveling east. Officer Brian Jennings received permission to continue to look for the missing man outside the city limits.
At approximately 6:35, Jennings made contact with the man as he traveled east on Elizabethtown Road near Spurrier Road in Big Clifty. The man, who it appears did not hear the police siren behind him, eventually pulled over in the 11800 block of Elizabethtown Road.
Jennings said the man, who had been reported missing about three hours before he was found, had no idea he was in Kentucky, much less Grayson County. He did not appear to be suffering from a medical emergency.
Family members were notified of the man’s location.
Grayson County Deputies Justin Cockerel and Justin Jones arrived and assisted at the scene.
