A man has committed suicide after holding a woman against her will.
Kentucky State Police said troopers responded Friday night at approximately 6:40 to a Symsonia (Graves Co.) business parking lot on the report of a woman being held against her will in a vehicle.
Upon troopers approaching the vehicle, the male occupant exited holding a firearm, police said. Troopers attempted to de-escalate the situation with verbal commands but the male shot himself.
He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The female was provided services by the Kentucky State Police Victim’s Advocate.
