Kentucky State Police is asking for the public’s help with an investigation into a fatal accident in Butler County.

The crash occurred Tuesday afternoon just before 5:00 near the 31-mile marker of I-165 (formerly the William H. Natcher Parkway) that resulted in the death of 27-year-old Bowling Green resident Lauren G. Marr.

“Kentucky State Police is requesting that anyone who witnessed or has information about this collision to please contact Trooper Bo Hubbard at 270-782-2010,”state police said.

Authorities said the preliminary investigation showed 22-year-old Jacob A. Whitefield, of Bowling Green, was driving a 2012 Nissan Maxima north when the vehicle exited the left side of the road and crossed the median. The Nissan continued into the southbound lanes and struck a 2018 Ford Escape, being driven by Marr.

She was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Butler County Coroner’s Office. Whitefield was airlifted from the scene and transported to TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
