A woman was killed in a Butler County crash when a vehicle crossed the median.

Kentucky State Police said that on Tuesday afternoon at approximately 5:00, troopers responded to the accident near the 31-mile marker of I-165.

Police said the investigation showed 22-year-old Jacob A. Whitefield, of Bowling Green, was driving a 2012 Nissan Maxima north when the vehicle exited the left side of the road and crossed the median. The Nissan continued into the southbound lanes and struck a 2018 Ford Escape, being driven by 27-year-old Lauren G. Marr, also of Bowling Green.

Marr was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Butler County Coroner’s Office. Whitefield was airlifted from the scene and transported to TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

The investigation is being led by Trooper Bo Hubbard.
