An eastern Kentucky teenager has been charged with murder after shooting and killing his cousin.
Kentucky State Police arrested 19-year-old Sterlin Justice, of Stopover (Pike Co.), on Friday and charged him with the murder of his cousin, 34-year-old William Working, of Phelps.
Kentucky State Police said the shooting occurred Friday morning at 7:40 at a residence on Hwy 194 in the Jamboree community in Phelps. Justice was arrested five miles from the site of the shooting approximately three hours later.
Nearby Phelps High School and a nursing home were placed on lockdown due to the proximity to the shooting.
The suspect was lodged in the Pike County Detention Center.
Police have not released information on what led to the shooting.
The Martin County-Tug Valley Mountain Citizen first reported the suspect and victim are cousins.
