A Hardin County volunteer firefighter has been accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl enrolled in a junior firefighter program.
On Monday night, and after an investigation that spanned several weeks, Kentucky State Police arrested 25-year-old William Nickoson, a member of the Vine Grove Fire Department. He was charged with third-degree sodomy.
The incident took place on May 28, 2022, when the victim was 15-years-old. Police noted that Nickoson knew the girl’s age and was aware he was breaking the law.
He was lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center but has since been released on a $5,000 bond.
