A Hardin County high school student has been arrested after bringing weapons to school.

Central Hardin High School Principal Tim Isaacs said staff members on Monday found a knife and two airsoft pistols in the student’s backpack, according to a report by WAVE.com. Another student reported to staff that the suspect’s backpack contained weapons.

The student was arrested by the school resource officer. Hardin County Schools could also take action against the student.

“The old adage is true … if you see or hear something, say something to a trusted adult,” Isaacs said in a message to students and parents. “Because we had students act quickly, we were able to take immediate action.”
