Johnny V. Lindsey, 79, of Brownsville passed away peacefully with family by his side May 4, 2023 at his home.
The Edmonson County native was a carpenter, a city of Brownsville employee, a school bus driver and a member of Oak Grove United Baptist Church. He was a son of the late Arthur Lindsey and Gertrude “Gertie” Harmon Lindsey and the husband of the late Mary Kathleen “Kathy” Lindsey. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Ada Caskey, Maggie Spencer, Evelyn Lindsey and Laura Lindsey; a brother, Glenn Lindsey; and a nephew, David Wells.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will take place 3-7 PM Saturday and after 10:00 AM Sunday.
Surviving are a daughter, Katherine Ann Lindsey of Brownsville; a son, David Lindsey (Jennifer) of Brownsville; two brothers, Willie Lindsey of Chalybeate and Oval Lindsey of Mohawk; two grandchildren, Tiffany Carnes (Kyle) and Amber Brooks (Tyler); six great grandchildren, Braxton Carnes, Zaylee Carnes, Emerson Carnes, Greyson Brooks, Kade Brooks and Kinleigh Brooks; and several nieces and nephews.
