A worker suffered serious injuries Saturday night after being struck by a vehicle at a demolition derby at the Edmonson County Fairgrounds.
The Brownsville Police Department told The Edmonson Voice that the worker was struck and “seriously injured” by a participating vehicle while inside the demolition derby perimeter. The victim was airlifted to a hospital.
The event was cancelled after the accident, with one of the event organizers telling the news outlet the derby participants agreed to the cancellation.
The name of the victim has not been released.
