Three people have been injured, including two EMS workers, after a tractor-trailer crashed into the rear of an ambulance on I-65.
The incident occurred Wednesday night at approximately 6:45 near the Brooks exit when two Bullitt County EMS employees “were preparing to depart the scene with a patient on board,” Bullitt County Emergency Medical Services said in a social media post. The patient in the ambulance had been injured in a previous accident.
The ambulance was parked on the shoulder of the interstate when the semi struck the vehicle.
All three victims, after being extricated from the ambulance by firefighters, were transported to University of Louisville Hospital. All three have since been released.
The truck driver was not injured.
