Kentucky State Police arrested two men and charged them with the murder of man police have been looking for since October 2022.

Troopers charged Joe D. Bryant, 48, of Pine Knot, and Broderick A. Taylor, 24, of Eubank, with murder, abuse of a corpse and tampering with physical evidence in the death of Roscoe L. Garland, 54, of Pine Knot.

Garland was reported missing from McCreary County on October 14, 2022.

State police recently received a tip on the location of Garland’ body and discovered his skeletal remains on a forest service road in Whitley County on Tuesday. The remains were transported to the state Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort where Garland was positively identified.

Bryant is being held in the Whitley County Detention Center. Taylor has been lodged in the Knox County Detention Center since early January 2023 on a parole violation warrant.
