A Caneyville woman was arrested Saturday on drug and theft charges after stealing her ex-husband’s car.

Grayson County Deputies Jordan Jones and Wally Ritter responded Saturday afternoon at approximately 12:45 to the 10900 block of Beaver Dam Road following the theft of a 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage.

After speaking with the victim, Jones began patrolling the Western Kentucky Parkway for the suspect, 34-year-old Heather N. Cook, of Caneyville. Jones spotted the vehicle traveling east at the 110-mile marker of the parkway and executed a traffic stop, according to the arrest citation.

During the stop, Jones and Ritter discovered Cook did not have a valid Kentucky driver’s license.

She was arrested and transported to the Grayson County Detention Center. Upon arrival at the facility, the citation says Cook informed police she had a glass pipe in her purse. Jones seized the pipe which contained methamphetamine.

Cook was charged with theft by unlawful taking (automobile), possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), driving on a revoked/suspended operator’s license, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
