A vehicle crossed the center line and struck an Adair County school bus with 18 students and five adults on board.

The wreck occurred Sunday morning at approximately 12:45 in Columbia when a Ford Edge, being driven by 64-year-old Margaret Moran, crossed the center line of Jamestown Street and struck a school bus head-on.

The bus driver, 63-year-old Richard Redmon, of Columbia, and Moran were transported to T.J. Health Columbia hospital.

The other adults and all students were evaluated for injuries at the scene. All denied transport to a hospital.

Columbia Police Department officers obtained a search warrant for Moran’s blood, which was extracted at the T.J. Samson Columbia emergency room. Charges are pending the receipt of the blood test results, police said.

The students and adults were returning home from a trip to Washington, D.C.
